More detail? What country?

im from australia...my fiancee is in Burma/myanmar. but there is no australian consulate there so the officer from BKK have to come there to conduct the interviews and get processed in BKK.

Since July? So I take it they only send a consular officer to Burma to conduct interviews once every 6 months (or every 12 months)? If you've not heard anything despite calling, emailing, etc, it unfortunately looks as if you'll need to arrange to have her travel to Bangkok to interview at the Embassy directly.

Don't forget Australia has imposed sanctions on Burma, preventing Burmese government officials from travelling to Australia (which they recently extended to the families of the Burmese Generals).

I suspect that Burma may be engaging in tit-for-tat retaliation - and preventing Australian government officials from travelling to Burma. This may explain why the interview office has not been able to return to Burma recently.

yes...thats the alternative but it is alot of money involve travelling. Though we are considering it. We'll see what happen by january. if nuthing is heard, might have to go to BKK.
