Flights To Vientiane? And Marriage Extension

Featured Replies

Before i got married ten years ago, I used to do trips to the Thai embassy in Vientiane for a visa run. There was an option to take a Laos Air flight from Chiangmai and get a visa on entry. Is this option still available?

Having had the One year extensions to my Non-immigrant 'O' visa for marriage to a Thai citizen for that last ten years, I now find that because the GBPound has lost its value that my pension is insufficient to qualify for such a renewal, and am therefore forced to consider other options.

Laos air website. http://www.laoairlines.com/

Looks a bit expensive. Also Nok Air no longer go from Chiang Mai to Udon. Looks like the bus. :o

Fred, can you not get your Wife to pay tax on a fictitious income to top up your pension.

Members have reported doing this.

I have edited the title and moved this to the Visa forum.

Hopefully you might get some help here.

Having your wife declare income at the tax office is a good option for you. It will need to be an annual amount that would work out equal to the monthly amount needed. She could show up to almost 270,000 per year and not pay any tax. There have been reports of having the wife just go to the local revenue office and declare the income and the tax office even did all the calculations. For more info see the following link to the revenue department website.

Also since you are grand fathered you could also still do the 400,000 baht in the bank option.

Yes. The 400,000 in the bank may help you.
