November 21, 200817 yr Application accepted to renew my multiple entry 'O' visa today without any bother. As ever, the visa section was pretty empty (it's Friday) and the Malay lady who works there was in a bright mood, which always helps... I had to show: * Singapore Employment Pass (which is stamped in my passport) * Copy of marriage certificate * Copy of wife's ID card * Copy of wife's passport & Singapore Dependants Pass These three items were all signed & dated by Mrs CC this morning * Bank statement (they didn't specify how much funds had to be shown - I just gave them a copy of my most recent HSBC Singapore bank statement) * They did want to know a flight number and arrival date in Thailand (not until Christmas hols in my case) Other comments: 1. Definitely seems that you need to be resident in the country in which you're applying to get a multi-entry ... there was an Indian gentleman in there and they refused him point blank, told him he had to apply in India 2. Visa fee is S$250 3. Noted that a 3 year Non-Immigrant visa is available for S$500 - but only for those working in Thailand (I asked) Hope this helps, CC
November 21, 200817 yr Well done CC and thanks for the info. I also am resident in Singapore (wp) and will be applying for non imm o early next year. Mrs Soihok and the Soihoklings are also on Dependant Passes. I was a little worried about the multiple entry aspect but its still on offer. Thanks
November 21, 200817 yr Author Sorry, I also took in one of my business cards in and that was stapled to the application form when I handed it over --- think anything that reinforces the view that you live / work / reside in the country where you are applying will help... CC
November 21, 200817 yr Good update CC. Quite what it has to do with Thailand whether you are resident in Singapore is beyond me but good to know that they are applying that pearl of wisdom. Cheers.
November 21, 200817 yr Author Seems to be this daft obsession with not letting people live in Thailand on annual multiple entry visas? Instead giving you a single entry and making you apply for extension and re-entry permit etc in Thailand ... Guess having a visa / residents permit etc in another country makes them feel warm and cuddly about giving you said multiple entry visa for Thailand (other option is to flog all the way back to home country - for me that's Birmingham - in November?! Not a chance ... ) CC
November 21, 200817 yr It would be the same for me, back to Blighty in winter ? shudder the thought. It is cold enough here !
