girlx
Did anyone else see Burn After Reading yet? I love the Cohen Bros. movies and I love most of the actors in this one too, but I was pretty disappointed in it overall... about halfway through I found myself falling asleep, it was so boring. It didn't seem as intelligent as such films as the Hudsucker Proxy and Fargo were, and the jokes were kind of lame and repetitive. Brad Pitt was funny, but I had already seen the best parts in the preview. John Malkovich was good but he seemed to have just one line- "What the f***!" which he repeated over & over... garro
I watched it, but quickly forgot it. I could say that about a lot of films recently though.
teacup
Well this’s what my friends said….. FUNNY AS H**L ….but you kinda have to have a special sense of humor. (HE and 2 other guys in the theatre were the only ones laughing), …my 4th friend was actually crying. (not gonna give away anymore spoilers here) So I would assume......not recommend for the FIRST DATE movie?

cloudbusting
Hey girlx, I felt the exact same when I watched it a few weeks back. I thought it was worse than "meh". This review pretty much sums up exactly what I thought of it.
girlx
"...It's seems that throughout their career, whenever they (Coen Bros) do something great, they have to kind of go on the back foot and do something lame to sort of loosen up afterwards". True... there are about as many bad Coen Bros flicks as there are great ones.
