Sparkles Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 Have just moved to CM and in the process of buying a house. If our sale goes through we will need a gas stove ASAP. Am looking at the free standing, 4 burner ,with large oven.Thats a priority and would also like to purchase a portable BBQ at some stage. Apart from the usual suspects ,Makro,Tesco etc has anyone seen any specialist outlets in their travels.
mickmac Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 For BBQ's have a quick look in Rimping Supermkt at Mee chock they have several at the top end of the store. You could also look at bbqthai on their web site as I'm sure they would ship to your house as well. Hope this helps.
Steve2UK Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 For the gas stove, take a look in either Niyom Panich (Mahidol Road) or Saha Panich (Mae Rim Road - close to town on the east side). I bought my Siemens 4-burner + standard-sized oven stove from there. Very happy with it - but your idea of "large" oven may exceed mine.
DustyRhodes Posted November 24, 2008 Posted November 24, 2008 If you're serious about your cooking you should have a look at the bakery supply store for a small commercial type stove with oven. Might want to consider building a first-rate brick or stone pit. The again, there's some great plans for brick ovens on the 'net for the taking. Good luck and call me when supper's ready.

Thanks for your help Niyom had what we were looking for a basic "old style " oven which produces a roast with a minimum of fuss.

Shipping is only about 500 Baht.
