Hk Dollar Account

Featured Replies

I've got a significant amount of USD in a thai bank account and am thinking about moving it over to Hong Kong. I just don't trust banks. Anyone know how to go about doing this and can reccomend a bank in HK? Also, what kind of docs are required to open an account in HK?

Go to HSBC (Rama IV) open a Premier Account there, they can arrange another Preimer Account for u in HK. Money transfers between Premier Accounts are free through the Bank's Internet site but the total account balance has to be over 1million Bahts.

Interesting...I didnt know that.

Does that mean one can freely transfer unlimited money out of Thailand...or does this have to be in foreign currencies ?

HKD is pegged to USD. You will twice lose money on the exchange and that's about it.
