BecTero1
When I was watching Thai television, I saw and said out loud: เร็วๆนี้ My girlfriend said it means 'soon'. Like a movie will be coming out soon. I put this phrase in thai2english and it came out เร็ว means 'suddenly' and นี้ means 'this'. I think the phrase means: (To be) quickly here. mynextgig
When I was watching Thai television, I saw and said out loud:เร็วๆนี้ My girlfriend said it means 'soon'. Like a movie will be coming out soon. I put this phrase in thai2english and it came out เร็ว means 'suddenly' and นี้ means 'this'. I think the phrase means: (To be) quickly here. Please confirm knowledgeable forum members! Thanks. Ps. Hi Kroo Ae!! เร็วๆ is often used in everyday Thai for quickly, hurry etc. Putting นี้ at the end adds emphasis to the subject that is being referred to. You may well hear it pronounced as 'Lil Lil' in colloquial Thai. Edited December 4, 2008 by mynextgig
kriswillems
It just means "soon" or "coming soon" or "in the near future" เร็ว = fast นี้ = this "this" probably refers to this place/channel/time Variations are : เมื่อเร็วๆนี้ and ในเร็วๆนี้ If you put a space/pause between เร็วๆ and นี้ the meaning is slightly different. Tywais
Not a new saying. You will see it on posters at movie theaters announcing an upcoming movie. Meaning "Coming Soon".
withnail
Yes coming soon. Also, with bars/shops opening I've seen it.
