I have found this webpage (http://thai-language.com/id/812569) to be very helpful for learning consonants, but there does not appear to be a similar one for vowels. Does anybody know where I can find one, either online or to put on my computer?

Associated with the vowel is a sample word. Click on the speaker to hear the relevant sound.

If you looked at the link you will now be utterly confused I should think. It is nothing like as complicated as that.

I put the vowels on another thread in the form of a ryme. I wrote them all out here but got into a terrible mess with spacing and what started out as simple looked absolutely horrible.

Keep it simple there are only 14 vowels which have short and long forms and 4 short vowels so 32 in all. Where short vowels are made so by ะ if there is a closing consonent this ะ is in the way and needs to go so a symbol is used to show that has been removed, in the case of the first vowel ไม้หันอากาศ หรือ ไม้ผัด is used for this อั eg ผัด

for others อะ is replaced by ไม้ไต่คู้ อ็ eg. แข็ง เด็ก I wont do any more this is enough to go on with. When I saw that chart I felt sorry for you, there is very little to learn: four pairs where the long form has more to it อิ อื อุ อู, eight others which except in the case of อ differ only because of the addition of ะ and four memerable short vowels. Best of luck.
