Air Asia

Featured Replies

so to cut a long story short they wouldnt let me cancel my flight that was booked on the 1st dec because they kept saying that the airport would open.

two hours before the flight they sent me a text to say that - surprise surprise - the flight was cancelled. didnt really bother me that much as i had already driven to Bangkok instead as i needed to go to the embassy.

so they agreed to a refund, but only for the flight there not the return flight that i had also booked. 20 minute argument with a "supervisor" resulted in them understanding that if they had cancelled the flight on the 1st there i could hardly fly back the following day.

all this so is fine as the airport closure was nothing to do with them. BUT having spent the last 3 days trying to get through to their call centre to see when i can expect the refund i was told perhaps the middle to end of JANUARY!!!!

<deleted>, needless to say that seemed a bot strange but they have emailed me their cancellation policy - 45 working days!!! wish i could do the same with my customers............

Cancel outgoing Flight - the entire trip is canceled unless you buy 1way tickets. Any rate have to love thai logic at work. Fking hilarious sometimes the way they think. :o

All Air Asia fares are actually one way.

And almost all airlines take that long if not longer to process a refund.

It took HSBC 90 working days to get me my 20.000 baht back that didn't come out of the ATM but was booked of my bankaccount!

Finally got through to Air Asia regarding my cancelled - BKK - HANOI flight - 15 mins on the phone and they sent me a credit note for $185 - quite surprised about the ease of it all

so to cut a long story short they wouldnt let me cancel my flight that was booked on the 1st dec because they kept saying that the airport would open.

Had Thai Airways once delay a flight to the point that I was going to miss a meeting in BKK.

They told me Nok Air (which they also ran) had a flight leaving sooner and I could go book with them.

Once booked with Nok, I went back to Thai Air to talk about a refund, and they said "oh no, we never said we would provide a refund, maddai".

I did end up using the Thai ticket back but then had to pay extra for changing my flight.

Air travel, sometimes good, sometimes bad, sometimes the ugly...............
