basjke
As far a I recall after the financial crisis of 1997 it became effective that banks were allowed to pay no interest on foreigner accounts. However it was up to the bank if they applied this rule or not. For your information Bank Thai pays 2.25% on savings deposit, same for thai as non-thai.
FlorC
Hello , I had an account at Pattaya south road , and no interest too. So I went to complain in HQ on Sukumvit in Bangkok , where they said the exact same BullSh. They gave me a Krung Thai bag, and I took out my money. Siam Com and Kasikorn and Bangkok Bank, no problem, they just want an address. 0,75% like the Thai, but I only keep the minimum amount on it. Fixed accounts and Gov Bonds (no tax) are much better.
