Hello,

I am in Thailand at the moment on a tourist visa. I will have to apply for an extension in two weeks.

Afterwards, I am hoping I will be able to make a visa run across the border and apply/obtain a new tourist visa for two months.

In light of the new rules, this does not look quite as straightforward anymore.

Any info/advise here?

My second and more important question:

I work with companies in other countries via the Internet. I do NOT work WITH or FOR a Thai company. I am paid in an account abroad.

I read somewhere I would be eligible for a work permit on that basis?

Can anybody tell me whether this is correct?

If so, does that also help me obtain a longer stay visa?

Thank you very much for any advise.

Regards,

Arno.

You can not apply for a WP, as for that you would need to set up a company in Thailand first (or work for a Thai company).

As for tourist visas there has not been any change in he rules.
