New Zealander Arrested On Drug Charges

I don't see what is wrong with calling someone an idiot with the conditional IF THEN type scenario. It is a bit unrealistic to expect a PM to waste his time investigating every single minor infringement even of the non sheep shagging variety. It would be like asking an Aussie to pay for the bill....realistically, the odds are just against them having brought their wallet that day.

Just saw this reply steveromagnino. Ignorance and stereotyping never ceases to amaze me. I'm sure a healthy political debate with you would be akin to smashing my head against a brick wall. Thoroughly undesirable.

:D

An idiot perhaps, but a small amount of drugs does not a dealer make.

Five small empty bags? So what. A million possible reasons, one of which that he already used the contents.

And the other being that he was dealing... wouldn't take Somchai Holmes to work that one out. :o

DRUG CHARGES: Kiwi racing driver Peter Scharmach could face 20 years in a Thai prison.

So, anyone know if he has returned?
News on Peter Scharmach, much like him and his bail money, has drifted off into oblivion.

UPDATE... he's back... in the news, not in Thailand...he's back to race car driving... in Germany

Excerpt of online translation of:

- Autosieger magazine / 2009-05-08

Ridge Renault Race Festival on the Nürburgring [in Nürburg, Germany]

If from the 20th to the 24th May the legendary ADAC-24 hours are announced to running on the Nürburgring, Renault Motor sport brings about 100 spectacular tour cars from 5-decade racing sport history

Renault's primary rocks like Peter Scharmach, Oliver Freymuth, and many other known drivers who stand for action on the runway are present.

Since when did bail mean you could skip the country? There's no mention of him making an unlawful exit, sounds like he hopped on a plane and shot, with their knowledge.

Come on Thailand, at least pretend you aren't corrupt.

very true :)

Is it explained about the bail, Gonzo? Not really. They say he should come back to Thailand in time for his court hearing, but why would he? He's out of the country now, they can never bring him back, it's all just empty words they're saying because the Thai authorities simply let him go because he paid a bunch of money and that was enough for them. The posters above are saying it's laughable that he would come back to the country for a court case as now that he's gone he surely won't come back, just showing that Thailand is corrupt because money talks. And it does.

The article says it's a "rare break from the country's notoriously tough stance on drugs," so that's why they have questions Gonzo the face. Why the rare break? Please read before you shoot. :)
