It results in navigational instrument having to be adjusted to take account of the difference between degrees true (based on the geographic North pole)and degrees magnetic. The difference has been predictable far centuries and was published on charts as moving so many minutes East or west per year. Its the current unpredictabilty that is causing concern. -

UK Pensioners in Thailand Face New Scrutiny Over Pension Fraud
But none of us living in Thailand on a UK pension uses any NHS services, we get far less than a UK resident pensioner, no free travel, and no other benefits eg housing. We're far less of "a burden" on the country than a UK pensioner living in the UK. We're 1000s of miles away looking after ourselves as best we can with no state help from anybody. And proud of it. There's absolutely no defense for denying us the rises. And what on earth's it got to do with Thai pensioners living abroad? A Thai state pension is what, 600 THB pm? 20 THB per day.
