Gladiator Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 Sadly the time recently came when, despite having two full time carers, we could no longer provide my Mum the medical nursing care that she required by keeping her at home. She has, over the last 18 months, spent much time in Suandork Hospital and the monthly cost of allowing Suandork to care for her would have been prohibitive. Mckean provided an affordable and realistic alternative. Obviously in no way does it compare medically with either Suandork or Ram1. Still, she has total medical care and a doctor available 24 hours per day. It is located by the Ping River, just off from the ring road, in several square kilometers of beautiful grounds. She has her own room with bathroom ensuite and Thai TV ( we have provided DVD and VCR). There is an exercise/therapy room and chapel within the hospital block. There are several other westerners in reidence with various degrees of impairments and mobility. If any of you are yourselves, or have relatives, in a similar situation - please PM me and I can provide you with further details.

I suppose as always in life - you have to take as you find. I can ownly relate my own personal experience. Perhaps the decor is not new but thats a trade-off. The nurses are kind and competent. The doctor's office is adjacent to my Mum's room. All facilities including the exercise/therapy room are on one level. This easily allows us to take Mum into the grounds for a walkand picnic and to meet with Cassie the family dog. Finally I can park directly in front of the bulding without problem.
