Hi,

There are 2 main topics

1 Your relationship, questions will be about when you met, where will you live, what have you been doing etc, they will be looking for any inconsistancies between both your stories.

2 Finances, how will you support your fiance and what financial support have you given so far.

If everything is above board and genuine then you don't need to worry.

You will probably get a phone call shortly before approval asking much the same to see if you give the same answers.

All of this was my experience a few years ago.

Is your partner applying for a Subclass 300 Prospective Marriage Visa?

I cannot tell you the exact questions the interviewer will ask, although Garyh summed it up quite well, and he has been through the process previously.

The interview is for the purposes of establishing that your intended spouse relationship is genuine.

The interviewer will ask varying questions to assess you and your partner's genuine intention to live together as a married couple. Questions will focus on the financial; household; social and personal factors of your relationship.

If you are up for a bit of reading over Xmas (albeit somewhat boring), Regulation 1.15A(3) of the Migration Regulations sets out the relevant factors in determining whether a genuine spousal relationship exists. The questions will therefore be focused around those circumstances. That should give you a fair idea of the types of questions that will be asked:

Reg1.15A_3_.pdf

On a final note however, DIAC policy acknowledges that couples who are intending to marry will not always be able to provide evidence in support of all the factors listed in Reg 1.15A(3).

All the best for the 14th.
