Hello, I am an American Citizen and will being doing Buiseness in Thailand and Cambodia among other Asian nations. I was wondering if someone could tell me where I can download the application form for the APEC Card for American citizens, since I will be entering Thailand many many times(among other countries), I thought this would be a good thing to get. I have read that it could take up to 4 months to get, so I thought I should do it now. I have googled it but am only finding Australasian forms. Any Ideas?? Thanks in advance.

Hi there Singoth,

I've got an APEC card issued in Australia (I'm aussie) and sorry to disappoint you, but the US is not one of the 17 member countries that it applies to :o . You are going to have to apply for the applicable visa for your situation for Thailand. Oh and Cambodia is not one of the 17 member countries either so even I would have to get a visa for there if I was to stay long term. Cheers........................................

But dont be too discouraged Singoth- this is on the ABTC website :-

" In September 2007, the United States became a "transitional member" of the ABTC scheme, with the aim of becoming a full participant within a three-year period. The U.S. currently recognizes the ABTC for expedited visa interview scheduling at U.S. embassies and consulates, and facilitates immigration processing through airline crew lanes upon arrival at U.S. international airports. Cardholders from non-Visa Waiver Program countries still need to present valid passports and obtain U.S. visas as required by United States law. U.S. passport holders are not yet eligible to apply for the ABTC."

That is about 2010 for full membership of ABTC
