Only In Thailand.

I haven't really been in Thailand long enough to comment on the police, but I have sure read some pretty disturbing stories. I guess one advantage (for the police anyway) is that it would be a good disguise when they are taking your money.

Yes it's kinda nice and unique to a Country such as Thailand.

Maybe they could also make a miserable face mask for grumpy ever moaning Farangs too. :o

Maigo starts the year as we can presume he will continue... Bleating and moaning about 'Moaning Farangs' regardless of whether anyone else but himself is moaning.

I must say a couple of experiences on our recent visit left a favourable impression of these gentlemen:

Going south from Khorat approaching the climb over the Khao Yai range, I was flagged down at a roadblock. I was pretty sure I hadn't been speeding, but steeled myself for the inevitable shakedown. After a "Pai Nai?", a few words with the memsahib and a cursory inspection of my (UK) driving licence he shook my hand and said "Good luck to you."

We flew out on Dec 4th via U Tapao, where we went in a 10-coach convoy from the BITEC in Bangkok. This was escorted all the way by traffic police, who also had blocked off all the junctions so we went straight through. In my view they are the only law enforcement body who did their duty during the recent outrage at Suvarnabhumi.

Apart from the OP that stated it was ludicrous and just another one of the dumb ideas to eminate from Thailand.

PS, you'll never catch me moaning about Thailand, if I ever did, guess what............ ?

I'd leave if I was unhappy, simple as that.
