7 children, 2 mothers killed in road accident in Narathiwat

Narathiwat: -- Seven children were killed and two mothers were fatally injured when their pick-up truck overturned and crashed into a tree, police said.

The accident happened at 4:30 pm on the Phetkasem Road in Thungkha village in Yingor district's Tambon Laharo.

Police said the truck was carrying about 20 children and some parents back from a trip to Pacho Waterfall in Bacho district.

The truck lost control and fell into the ditch in the middle of the road before it overturned and crashed into a tree.

The seven children died at the scene. Twelve other people were injured and were rushed to the Narathiwat Hospital. Two of them, who were mothers of some of the children, died at the hospital.
