Quick answer is to get a valuer. I can put you in touch with colleagues who specialise in this area if you like?

I am trying to get the value of land with rubber on it (the trees are producing rubber) in the Krabi Trang area. I (my Thai friend) want to use this as collateral for a loan.

I can tell you that my wife purchased 27 rai of rubber tree land 4 or 5 years ago for 35,000 baht per rai in Phatthalung which is the province to the East of Trang. 2 years ago, she sold 17 rai for 50,000 baht per rai which had mature rubber producing trees but they were not producing as well as we had expected. I believe the buyer was interested in the wood and in replanting. That was also when rubber was worth more. The land title is something my wife calls Sor Tor Gor, which is really an agreement signed by both parties and witnessed by the top official in the local village. The land was also on fairly rugged terrain. I also know that she can't use the land as collateral for a loan from a bank.
