which operator do you use ? first thing would be to call your operator's hotline and ask them if there are promotion rates. 12call and DTAC often have that, the price should be 5 or 7 Baht a minute. though the call quaility might be a little worse than using the "premium-line".

if you are not satisfied with the rate per minute, try to buy a phonecard. even 7-11 should have several available, or go to a phone-shop. MBK should be a good place for that. there were some advertisements in the english-language press in thailand as well, private phone-companies offering such cheapo-cards, they even had websites but unfortunately I didnt save the URL. asking Khun GOOGLE could help as well

If EUR0.068/Minute (about THB3.15/Minute ) is a good deal for you, then you can use "www dot jajah dot com." Actually you can call to any country using their service... Check other rates on their website.

You can use Jajah from a mobile phone by either using your internet connection and make a connection from your mobile phone to Malaysia

or,

if you have Symbian device with WAP/GPRS (may be works on Windows Mobile, I haven't tried).. you can do the connection from the mobile from anywhere (without the need for internet). You need to download the Jajah application first.

I am using this on Nokia N70 phone that has Symbian S60 OS. It is pretty good.

Learn from their site.

Hope you find it useful.

incidentally, CAT TELECOM had a huge advertisement in monday's BANGKOK-POST, promoting international calling cards. unfortunately, I didnt save the entire ad, only wrote down their website URL which is www.cattelecom.com , which I then later found out is entirely in THAI with obviously no English version available. plus they have a contact center which can be called at 1322. I guess they will have english speakers at their callcenter after they advertised in an english-language newspaper. try your luck....

the cheapest is to go to your local CAT telecom shop. Tell them to register the IDD Phonenet card for your mobile phone. That means u don't get charged extra for making the IDD call through the card. Also at special rates. Better rates than if u just use the card without registration to your mobile phone. After registration you use your phone to call 1544, and it would automatically tell you how much u have left. No need to put in any serial numbers from the card. Dial 009 followed by country code.

Calling Malaysia Landlines : 2Baht per minute

Calling Malaysia Mobile Phones : 2.5 Baht per minute.
