Residence Permit

Featured Replies

Hi Friends

I'm a long stay guy here, Thai wife, kids, properties, long term employment ,work at PTTEP with work permit more than 3 years most recently.

For some time I've been looking for an agency to apply for a 5 year residence permit for me but am not having much luck.

Clicking through the banners on this site has not resulted in any progress. Either very expensive service charges or no interest whatsoever to help me out.........

Any good suggestions on companies or individuals that could help me with this.

Thanks in advance

Shane

There is no such thing as a 5 year residence permit.

Please give some more detail as to what you want.

well, I've been told that theres such a thing as being able to apply for residence here in Thailand.......

And such residence is granted on a 5 year/5 year/permanent basis....

Hence the 5 year thing.....

Simply put I'd like to apply to be able to reside here longer than my work permit and associated non immigrant visa allows....

There is only permanent residence available. Applications are only accepted once a year and then there is normally a 2 year wait for approval. You have to be on 1 year extensions for 3 years and then the 2 year wait is 5 years total maybe thats where the 5 years you heard about came from.

Info from immigration website: http://www.immigration.go.th/nov2004/en/ba...?page=residence

It will give you some idea of what is required.
