Hey guys,

I just thought i would post my question here on thai visa because ive asked a couple of people and got conflicting answers from them.

Im leaving for Thailand soon from Dublin (Ireland) and was wondering will i need a visa to do so? I am travelling with a one ticket to BKK and planning to stay for about 3/4 weeks before leaving for the phillipines for a fortnight and then returning to LOS for 3/4 weeks again.

Thanks in advance

With a one way ticket and no visa you may have a problem being allowed on the flight. It is the airlines responsibility to make sure that you have valid documents to enter the country you are travelling to.

If you can show a ticket leaving Thailand within 30 days of arrival you will be ok.

Your problem, if there is one, will be with the airline not letting you board the flight with a one-way ticket. You will receive a 30 day Visa Exempt stamp upon arrival at the Bangkok airport. A return ticket is rarely asked for by immigration at the Bangkok airport.

If the check in clerk is doing their job properly they will not let you on the flight as they will be responsible to fly you back if you get refused entry to Thailand.

Not a bad idea to contact the airline and ask.

You can contact them but I think you will get thes same answer you have gotten here, Some airlines will let you sign a waiver so that if you are denied entry they are not responsible.

I think it is going to come down to you having two choices.

1. Get a visa. If you got a 2 entry tourist visa it would cover both of your entries where you may not have a return or onward ticket. Website for consulate in Dublin: http://www.thaiconsulateireland.com/

2. Buy a return or onward ticket.
