Hi Everyone,

A Thai friend and I are going down to Phuket tomorrow for two days to try and help out. Is there any budget accommodation available in Phuket Town or elsewhere, or is it better to bring a tent etc?

Dude, from the sounds of things all is ok for your holiday.

Just remember to show respect, a lot of us have lost family or friends, so whilst the holiday machine is up and running the emotional machine is tired.

Thanks. I understand what your saying with your use of the word holiday, and I thought hard about what the right thing to do too would be. In the end, I guess, I decided that going would be the best way of showing respect. I know I have very little to offer, and no way of understanding the great losses you have all suffered, but I really hope I can just do one small thing to ease the burden on someone. Its difficult of course, the ethics of the whole thing. Its all too overwhelming really, and I suppose one reason i wanted to come was to try and make sense of it all, if that's even remotely possible.
