GuestHouse
The BBC News today carried an item showing the British Ambassador visiting the Kho Lak. The BBC reporter stated that the local NGOs are reporting in excess of 5000 dead on Kho Lak alone. Now the Thai goverment is reporting 4,800 dead. So who is it that can't count? NarrLing
With all the confusion going on, there is bound to be discrepancies with figures. A friend in the Ministry of Health told me last week the confirmed toll was over 2,500 and they were expecting the total toll to reach 20,000. At the same time the news was only reporting 1500. I pray the toll doesn't reach that estimated amount. Edited January 2, 2005 by NarrLing

Those still "missing" are probably dead by now. Many of their bodies will never be found.
