game4shame Posted February 1, 2009 Share Posted February 1, 2009 I'm coming to the end of a 12-month contract with O2 and have been toying with the idea of switching to orange - mainly due to the laptops/netbooks included in some orange deals. anyway, I gave orange a call today to ask about costs texting and calling thailand (via a 0844 access number). O2 are 16p a text to thailand and 20p per minute flat rate on 0844 access numbers. the orange rep said texts would be 50p each and 0844 numbers would be up to 54p per minute. I asked if he could give an exact cost of some access numbers if I provided them but he could only say the cost would be up to 54p per minute. the difference in cost between the 2 networks is almost unbelievable. does anyone in regular contact with thailand have an orange contract in the UK? and if so, are the rates as much of a rip off as they sound? cheers game.
