Featured Replies

Hello all;

Just got this from the Phuket gazette.

For all you living in Phuket

I am going to go to Lotus tomorrow and buy some supplies and then drive up to takua pa . This will be my second trip up north.

If anyone would like to contribute call me at 01-8935626 and meet me at lotus tomorrow morning.

Relief items needed urgently in Takua Pa

TAKUA PA: The Gazette has received an urgent plea from volunteers working with tsunami survivors at the Takua Pa District office for the following:

Milk powder for babies;

Milk bottles for babies;

Toys to occupy children;

Children's shoes, e.g. flip-flops;

Mosquito nets; and

Sarongs.

Anyone who can purchase some of these items and deliver them to Takua Pa District Office will be helping greatly.

Khao Lak needs cooking implements

KHAO LAK: Volunteers gathering relief for survivors in the devastated area around Khao Lak have appealed for items urgently needed there.

These include:

Cooking Utensils – Pots and pans, woks, plates, bowls, mugs, forks and spoons;

Cooking Oil;

Simple gas stoves (like those used for camping);

Simple rice cookers (non electric).

A collection point for such items has been set up at 18/177 Moo 5, Wichitsongkram Rd., Tambon Wichit, Muang, Phuket.

To get there, take the road toward Kathu from the Darasamut Intersection (Central Festival) and turn first left after the Makro Store. The collection point is the ground floor of the large red-roofed building on the left.

The collection point will be open for three days from 10 am till 6 pm, starting tomorrow morning (January 4).

Items will be delivered from there by truck to the Khuk Khak Tambon Administration Organization for immediate distribution to the needy.

For further information call Sam Sethi at Tel: 01-8929208; David Rich at Tel: 06-6894437; Rani Rich at Tel: 09-9083084 or Michael Hosking at Tel: 09-8663799.
