Crazy Driving

Don't you all agree that the buses and cabs drive erratically and rather dangerously here in Bangkok? We ride on a motorbike and many times the buses or cabs would just switch lanes without looking at their side or rear view mirrors! CRAZY!!

Like a fish in water, you've got to move with the school........

and why do you write in italics, it is painful to read!!!!!!!

Simple....I just like writing in italic...c'mon now, it can't be thaaat bad! :D

lol...perhaps you should go to my other thread #2513371 and make a wish there that you wish I'd stop writing in italic. You may just get your wish.. :o

Seems to me that the system, or the lack of a system (if you like) works here.

One golden rule is, if you leave some space, then expect someone to squeeze in.

They would expect you to do the same.

In order to follow this rule, one must actually be aware of whats going on, so one dont slam into the one that cuts you off.

All my friends seem to handle their cars quite well.

Crazy or not, it seems to work.

As a general rule. Don't pass a bus on the left. NOT a good idea. You have no idea where his next stop is. Don't expect him to be using his mirrors either.

You know it is somewhere on the left side of the bus. Hence the rule.

:o

Bingo.

Only thing that makes me a bit nervous actually, is when Im on a Moto taxi, and a bus passes on our right side, I start looking for signs that the buss will suddenly change lane (towards left).

But I guess the Moto driver is also aware of this.
