OK a little good news in these uncertain times.

The Water meter man came yesterday, i went to see the little book that he makes his notes in & was happy to see he put 30 Units down :D he had a laugh with the misses saying that was lucky as its free for 6 months again but only for 30 units not 50 as before,so now the family have been shown how to be a little greener by learning how to conserve water so it has other plus points. :o

Electric is also free but i have no details on the Units, last time it was around 50 Units i think, I know Grandma's is free if her bill is around 300/350/ baht a month over 400 baht you pay, its been a great help to the many Family's around our home when there doing well bringing home 4000 baht a month :D

Yeah the limits for the electricity have changed as well from this month February.

Before it was free if you were under 80 units, that remains the case.

Before you also got half price if you were under 150 units THIS HAS CHANGED. You now only get half price if you are under 90 units.

So from 0 to 80, its still free & from 81 to 90 its half price after that its full fare.

Given that its starting to heat up, I dare say the aircon will come back on and I will remain over the limits.....but its good to see the people without much getting a hand along during these uncertain times.

I find full price elect still cheaper here than in my homeland.

Nice to see the rate I'll tell the family, we were always well over with a nice Falang average of 300 units around 1000 baht a month that's for 6 of us so can't complain.

Like you say its nice to see some help getting through to the poor, up to now Marks not done bad even if he's a copy cat :o

Yeah Mali, you are absolutely right, I am happy to pay full price the govt should aim at the people who are doing it tuff.

Canadian monkey,

You need to reduce your usage, turn off the aircon, spa, pool lights, unplug your electric vibrating chair, disco lights, 7 plasma tvs, computers, fancy sound systems & 35 million watt vibrator and in no time you will qualify for cheap electricity. :o

That explains why I have not seen a water bill in my post box of late:)

Free electric? Last time, mine was - I think - 50% off because the house is owned by a teacher.

>>>>> just seen this :-

note to self, read more of topic in future!!

^no g54, half price because you were under the limit of 150 units for the month, go over that and everybody including teachers will pay full price. that changes from this month to 90 units and above pays full.
