Annoying Hum From Television

Featured Replies

I have a low grade annoying as hel_l hum from the television. Is this a grounding issue? If so, how do I address it?

It is in our living room, on a wooden desk on a marble floor.

Any help would be appreciated.

Wheres the hum coming from? Is it the speakers? Or the back of the television? What cables do you have connected to the television?

The first thing I would do is check any connecting cables from DVD etc...

Sorry forgot what type of television is it? CRT or Flat screen

Also what make?

I get this too and I appreciate it's infuriatiing, it's coming from the speakers and I'm quite sure it's a TrueVisions issue because I don't get it when I play computer games on it!

I have a Samsung SLIM something-or-other and it's only about 2 yers old and the noise was there as soon as we plugged it into UBC/TrueVisions for the first time!

Good luck!

Had same problem. Bought some decent cables and the hum (not Thai word hum :o ) disappeared.

I have two 29" samsung slims.

They both have hums. One has a hum all the time the other has a hum when it is really bright white.

I bought them cheap and I don't think they will last much longer. I think its something to do with the capacitors or something.

That's probably the problem, the cables we use are supplied by UBC/TrueVisions :D
