i always use www.asiareservations.net for my mates - they do a private car for 550.

That seems expensive, we only paid 325 from the airport to Silom in Bangkok and only 800 from Pattaya to the airport

The airport taxi price IS expensive, but it is a fixed price and you HAVE to use the airport taxi. No other taxis are allowed to pick up......unless you have a private booking like Mr Lob said about asiareservation. This means you don't get ripped off i guess but it's still not that cheap.

I would agree on the taxi comment, you don't have meter taxis down there it is not BKK. If you use the airport taxis you will pay over the top.

The site mentioned above I have also used to book my hotels in the past and always got very good rates and excellent service..... highly reccommend

If you go from the Airport to Pattaya the price is quite different, usually between 1.500 and 2.000 THB

(Taxis from Pattaya to Airport/Bangkok is very cheap)
