Presumably the Chinese illegal workers were counted as "tourists" by TAT and the Ministry of Tourism (not to mention possibly as "quality tourists"). What is more interesting though is that we never see any reports by the RTP, the DSI, or CBI on how many Chinese have been detained for illegal work, illegal businesses (check the news on fake goods in warehouses folks) and scamming since 2023, and what the cost to Thai society and economy has been. Also, if Chinese are coming to work illegally in construction (alongside Myanmar nationals), imagine how dire the economy is in China. -
