I was under the impression that due to the new rule that you must handle all of your extensions etc in the Province that you live/work and that would obviously include your 90 day check-ins. I have a non-Imm B with a one year extension which I was given in Trang. My next check in is April 24. I went down there today and asked them if I could come and stamp on the 16th of April because I will be in Chonburi on the 24. They told me I could get it stamped anywhere in Thailand. What I am worried about is if I go to a different immigration office are they going to tell me that I have to return to Trang? I am so confused!!

Also if anyone knows where the immigration office is in Chonburi that would be helpful.

Thanks.

You can do your 90 day report at any office....telling us where about in Chonburi would be helpful as there are multiple offices in Chnoburi Province or are you talking about Chonburi city ??

Just to to one of those offices.

Trang should let you report on the 16th of April since the rule is 7 days before or after the report date. You could go back on the 16th and see what they say then.

The new rule came in 15th February, there is a topic here somewhere.

OP you are right, you have to do your 90 day report at the office responsible for the area where you live.

However, it doesn't mean that the immigration office is aware of the new rules. I haven't seen any update on the Thai immigration website.

I think that you can still report by post to Bangkok.

If you have a problem, you will obviously be staying somewhere in Chonburi, so change your address to that one and then change back when you return home.

No he is not...you can do your 90 day report at any office, my responsible office is in Chonburi and I have just done a 90 day report in BKK at Rasa tower, not 5 days ago..

I have a non imm 'O' Type Visa which is for the year. Is it correct that anyone who is in the country for more than 90 days - regardless of Visa runs, must report in to immigration?

What do we need to bring with us other than a passport? Letters from our partner is our visa is dependant on them?

I have friends who stay here on tourist visas who do their visa run every 60 days then a trip to Penang - does this include them too?

Ninty day reports were not included in the recent changes. You should be able to report at any office.

Thank you UbonJoe, when I read

All visa changes, extensions, re-entry permits and other immigration requests are to be handled by the immigration offices in the districts in which the foreigners reside. Immigration offices at international airports can handle such issues only in emergencies ('illness' is given as an example).

in the thread at http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/Strict-Immig...as-t242451.html

I took that to include 90 day reporting.

So you can still report anywhere? that's good news

Pratcharanan - no need for sarcasm. As there was no link to the announcement in the thread, just a list of immigration offices, how was anybody supposed to know that 90 day reporting was excluded?

I think I am more confused now then I were before. You people are as bad as the immigration people are providing accurate information. Does someone really knows what's going one.

If Immigration do not know what the rules are it is a bit much to expect foreiners to know. Plus every Immigration Office will have theire own rule. The new rules have only been out a week or two . It takes a while to settle down.

Mrentual....I went to Suan Phlu immigration today to report my address, which foreigners are supposed to do every 90 days.

They told me that since the changes came into effect on Feb 15, I can report my address only at the immigration office which issued my visa (a non-immigrant :o, which is in Lad Phrao.

An hour earlier, I visited immigration at Klong Toey port, where I have reported my address before. I live close to both Suan Phlu and KT port...the port is usually much quieter, so in the past I have taken my business there rather than Suan Phlu.

Since Feb 15, staff told me, the port office is no longer processing 90-day reporting forms. And as I say, staff at Suan Phlu would not let me do it there, either, as my visa comes from somewhere else.

At both places, staff cited the one-stop-shop concept - which for immigration perhaps means that you can obtain services at one place only, not any services at any office you like, as the name suggests.

I exaggerate - a little. Suan Phlu still sold me a re-entry permit, after a three-hour wait. However, as I say, for 90-day reporting, I now have to visit Lad Prao, which is a long way from where I live. Next year, I might have to see if I can renew my visa at Suan Phlu instead.

This is where I get confused. I'm still not sure about this.

You do a 90 day report if you are on extension of stay, either based on marriage or working...if you are doing visa runs, you are not on extension of stay and this rule doesnt apply to you.

Did my 90 day report in BKK today and there is a notice at the counter saying you must report at an office in the province where you live. I assume if there is no office in your province you report to the nearest.

I live in Nakhon pathom and there is no office here. Anything would be better the madness of BKK anyway.

Oh dear this is what I was afraid of. I worry the Trang immigration office does not know about this yet and then the Pattya office will and I will have to fly all the way back to trang just for a 90 day report :o

You can handle this 3 ways.

1. Try to report in Trang on the 16th of April before you leave.

2. Mail it to Bangkok as per these instrucions. http://www.immigration.go.th/nov2004/en/base.php?page=90days

The postage is 10 baht not 5. Copies of passport photo page and recent entry stamps and extesnsion of stay not all the pages.

3. Report in Pattaya and use address there. Tell them you are on holiday and they will take it.

With all this 90 day chat - was wondering if anyone had actually missed it out completely and waited till the end of their year's visa? What are the consequences and how strictly are they enforced? I'm a UK national with a non immigrant 'b'.

Cheers

If you a have a visa you are using to enter the country and get a 90 day permit to stay then you don't have to worry about it when you go to a consulate to get a new visa because you don't have to do reports.

You only have to do reports if you are on an extension of the stay that you got when you used a visa to enter to the country. If you have not made the reports. When they ask to see the receipt for the your last report and you do not have it you will pay a 2000 baht fine.

Posted

But be careful, while some members experienced there is a 2,000 baht fine, the official law says different.

Immigration Act BE 2522 Section 76:

' Any Alien who fails to comply will be punished with a fine not more than 5,000 baht and with an additional fine of not exceeding 200 baht for every day which passes until has been complied with '.

Although the going fine is lower than what is written in the law, the law might be enforced one day. Imagine the fine you could get.

But as said, if you have a multiple Non Imm B, you have to leave the country every 90 days and your address is reported upon your next entry.

If it's a hotel then a receipt should work. I don;t think she will have a probelm using her home address though.

That's where I am afraid of .... somebody stated that Pattaya requires proof of your home address, not just your temporary address. A hotel receipt would be worthless, I think.

I was not asked for any proof of address in BKK, I wrote the address on the form and it was not questioned.

The address this time was different from that at the last report as I had moved since then.

My question relates to Pattaya, not Bangkok.
