Moonrakers
Anyone else besides me bored of this coloured sit-in thing? It dominates the daily news still, surely there are bigger issues (economy)?Guess not. I'm with you James, the novelty died off some time ago. Dear old koo is still going for it though, bless her. Koo82
Thank you My posts won't be buried like in News Clipping Forum. Here is a photo showing what Abhisit government used to block the red from going near the Government House in Feb. Police and military were sent there. If they had sent that many Police and Army, PAD might not have occupying the Government House for months.
Koo82
Supporters of the United Front of Democracy against Dictatorship will gather in Sanam Luang before surrounding Government House on March 26 in an attempt to topple the government, UDD core member and opposition Puea Thai MP Jatuporn Prompan said on Thursday. He said the UDD leadership had clearly told its supporters not to stage rallies during the censure debate, but could not prohibit them from protesting. About 20 red-shirts gathered outside the parliament this morning and burned Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva in effigy. - Bangkok Post -

So basically Koo, you would agree that the new Democrat government is in proper control of the country, while the old PPP ones were simply not that competent ? Or was it that they only had one item on their agenda ?

Koo82
Puea Thai MP Jatuporn Prompan said he is not worried if Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thaugsuban files a dissolution charge against his party to the Election Commission (EC). His response came after Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva and five cabinet ministers survived a no-confidence vote. Meanwhile, Puea Thai MP Chalerm Yubamrung said he would ask the EC to investigate the 258-million baht donation made to the Democrat party from TPI Polene for the 2005 general election campaign. Mr Chalerm used this issue to grill the government in the censure debate. - Bangkok Post - Edited March 21, 2009 by Koo82
jbowman1993
It will be interesting to see how many red shirts come to the "ENDGAME" rally on Thursday. Their organizers said that 300,000 would surround Government House, and will not leave until the government falls. 300,000....right. If there are more than 30,000 I will publicly declare my undying love for Koo and will offer to join the red shirt movement for the duration... Chances are it will be 15-20,000 and they will leave at nightfall (Because that's all the longer they can afford to pay the majority).
Koo82
Pracharaj leader Sanoh Thienthong said the government did not do an outstanding job in explaining alleged corruption problems during the censure debate. Mr Sanoh also slammed the government for failing to restore unity in the country, saying that it will not be able to bring prosperity to Thailand if the society is still divided. He added that the government has not been on the right track in finding solutions to the national problems. http://www.bangkokpost.com/breakingnews/13...s-down-for-govt
Koo82
United Front of Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD) core leader and former government spokesman Nattawut Saikua said he had no knowledge of any Taksin plan. He did not undestand why the claimed plot should be be linked to the UDD and its red-shirt supporters. He also questioned Gen Anupong's investigation of the so-called conspiracy. He wondered just why the army commander-in-chief was taking so much interest in the plot when there was so still no information at all about it. http://www.bangkokpost.com/news/politics/1...an-to-be-probed

That is even more idiotic than the "Finland Declaration". Are these people complete morons? The sad part here is that the quarters propagating these idiocies are the ones who have done most damage to Thailand. Who created the chaos? The PAD and their backers - nobody else. By justifying their completely illegal actions with exagerrated conspiracy theories they have cost the country much more than Thaksin ever could have done. There is an interesting response by Thongchai Winitchakul over the attacks against his and some other academic's initiative to reform the L.M. laws. He states that the military is creating a strawman, and exactly by doing this they have caused increased criticism, the exact same way they have created communist insurgents by their persecution. These people are mentally and intellectually not fit to be in the positions they are.
Scott
Truely a case of the pot calling the kettle black! Whether there is a plan or not, I don't know, but I would hope both sides have 'plans', even though planning isn't a particularly operative word in Thailand. There is an emotive difference in using the word conspiracy.
Koo82
It works to create the idea that the reds are just the same as the yellows... No one remembers yellows anymore, the reds are just re-enforcing the idea that they are petty troublemakers with not a single brain among them. What do you think people make out of that god awful censure debate? Wasting hours to discuss payments for some crappy posters five years ago? Rousing rabble over possible Hun Sen's reaction to Kasit's speeches? They've kissed and made up already, PTP is three months late. They've sealed their fate as the most incompetent and hysterical bunch to "grace" the parliament in the recent memory. In forums using English, some people try to create an impression like nothing has been damaged seriously by the yellows and the world still moves on, and the reds are troublemakers now. Those at the back of PAD and Abhisit are those the reds will fight with. In the meeting today in Chiangmai, around 20:00 hours, we expect Khun Thaksin to address and tell who the real Prime Minister now, not Abhisit, and that is the one who is controlling all those games. But I don't know if he will tell or not or signals will be cut. Signals were cut many times when Khun Thaksin talked on the phone when we watched via MVtv and DStation online. Freedom of speech? Democrat Party who is the government now said that they don't pay attention to the phone-ins of Khun Thaksin. Nuttawut joked that Democrat Party Spokesman comes out On Monday: not afraid of Khun Thaksin On Tuesday: not afraid of Khun Thaksin On Wednesday: not afraid of Khun Thaksin On Thursday: not afraid of Khun Thaksin On Friday: not afraid of Khun Thaksin Nuttawut joked if they are not afraid, what's the need they announce that everyday? Koo82
Deputy Prime Minister Suthep Thaugsuban admitted Monday that the government could not take action against former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra so far although he repeatedly calls in supporters to incite them to unrest. Suthep said Thaksin's latest video-link address to his supporters at a rally in Chiang Mai Sunday night clearly showed that he wanted to incite his supporters to create disturbance and turmoil to the country. "We are finding ways to handle this. The government is not ignoring it but as long as his actions do not break the laws, we won't be able to do anything," Suthep said. - The Nation - Edited March 23, 2009 by Koo82
Koo82
SJ, Find a photo they will take on this 26th at 6 hours and say there are a few thousand reds only. If they take the photo around 12 noon, it is hard to capture all people. The reds will walk from 12 hours to the Government House on 26th March 2009. If you don't see me post on 26th, you know where I am. This is a photo on 14th this month at Ayutthaya: It is a nightmare trying to remember when and where they have red meetings. They meet everywhere. Edited March 23, 2009 by Koo82

His call wasn't cut, but sadly Thaksin failed to tell the faithful gathered there who the real Prime Minister now is, as promised. Perhaps he's still trying to decide who it is ? He also forgot to mention his promise that, as soon as he got his pardon, the rallies would end. Why not ? Those stands look pretty empty, in the photo, perhaps they all got lost, on the way to the rally ? Edited March 23, 2009 by Ricardo
