A family in Krabi with an 18 year old son, who behaves like a monkey, is seeking help from outside.

A 18 year old boy ‘Yod’ has been detained in a wooden cage since he was two years old. This is due to his unusual behavior, like spending time in the woods and on high trees, not wearing clothing. His father Mr. Mitr Romyen, age 63 years old said his son’s behavior is monkey-like. If left alone, he would run into the woods and if forced to be at home near Klong Tom, he would mess the house, forcing the family to tie him with rope or put him in a cage. He said the family is concerned about his safety when in the forest. Mitr’s three other children are all normal. Mr. Mitr said the family sought medical treatment for his son, but the doctor said he cannot be completely recovered. Mitr went on to say that his son is now 18 years old, but physically looks like 5 years old. His health is deteriorating with no energy. He seeks assistance from related agencies due to the high expenditure he is facing. (Please email us if you can seriously help)

Good grief!!!! The boy needs to be seen by a specialist, Bkk perhaps??? God I can't believe it... well I can... it's a terribly uneducated family and they don't know what to do. I wish I could help but I'm not strong enough. Is there anyone out there who can help - maybe Mods would move this to General so it will get a bit more coverage... please
