Car Hire In Udon Thani

Featured Replies

Im looking to hire a car for 2 weeks during my visit to Udon.

I;ve found a Honda Jazz for 800bt a day from the englishman's retreat. With 1st class insurance and a 7000bt maximum liability.

My question/s

1. Is this a good deal or what should I expect to pay?

2. Has anyone used them and found them reliable?

Thanks for any info you can give

I have used Lek in Udon before, don't think I am allowed to add a link - google it. They were very good and delivered the car to the airport, bit more pricey at 1,100 per day for a two week rental, and again a maximum of 7,000 Baht excess, you leave a 2,000 Baht deposit and are liable for a further 5,000.

On their website they point out that they are a rental company with insurance to match, they relate horror stories about others who rent out with first class insurance that are no more than domestic policies.

I don't know what the Englishman's Treat car hire is, I suspect it is his car that he rents out, though I have to say that I am impressed with the details of his guest house and I would certainly stay there.

Hi. That sounds like a good deal. The owner of 'The Englishmans Retreat' is a forum member. and looking at his website i think his hotel (and girlfriend) look great. you could try.

http://www.lekcarrentaludonthani.com/ as well if ya want but 800baht a day seems very reasonable. I wish you could get rentals as cheap down here in Nakhom Pathom.

Hi

I've already PMd Paul to give him peace-of-mind.

I actually have 3 cars that I rent out (alright the wife does). This has been a line of business for nearly 2 years and we've made 4 claims, only 1 being anything serious. 2 of the 4 left the customers 1000bt shorter, (one had scuffed the side skirt parking close to a high curb, and the other couple must have upset someone cos it looked like a 40cm key scratch on the roof) the other 2 claims both lost their 7,000bt deposit.

In dealing with customers both guests and car hire, I have never been as much as a minute late for pick-up and drop-off.

Hope this info helps
