just a question

the misses claimes that, being married to a thai wife,

and being on a support family visa , you either prove 40k baht of monthly (what we do now)

or just show 400k on a bank account (i tought they stopped the 400k on a bank account thingie long ago ?)

is the 400k on a bank account still in use for visa extention based on family support visa ?

it is my wife, who is thai, that works and provide the 40k baht monthly

i run my european based company with a bussiness partner in my home country but as i already pay more taxes that i want overthere, i certainly not going to report anything through embassy or whatever overhere

Since November 25th 2008. The rule is 40,000 Baht Monthly income OR 400,000 Baht in a Thai bank for a period of 2 months before you apply.

Note that it has to be your money/income not your Wifes or family.

Since November 2008 the family income option is no longer availble, it now has to be your income only. However, you can now once again opt for the 400,000 in a Thai bank. The money has to be in your name only (no dual account) and be there for 2 months prior to extension.

Note that if you pay tax in your country already, there is no need to pay tax in Thailand. Ask your embassy.
