My wife has been out of the United States most of the two years she's had a green card. We have been careful not to break the 1 year limit, but other posters have warned that any time over 6 months is justification for revoking green card status. The thing is my wife is still enrolled in university here in Thailand and will be finishing next year. Is studying abroad a legitimate reason to be out of the country, or do I need to say something else if we are stopped at immigration? And will they really kick her out of the country even though she'll be traveling with our US citizen 2 year old child?
