March 5, 200917 yr A friend of mine was saying that it is possible to make the down payment on a new car with Barter Card. The few car sales listed in their directory do not answer their phones. Does anyone have any experience in this matter? I have 175,000 Barter Card points. Would be nice to use them....Thanks!

The best thing is if you contact "Barter Card". They know with who they dealing with.
March 6, 200917 yr Author I have to say I am a little disappointed in Barter Card. Rental- Across all of Thailand I can find no one who will accept barter card for more than one week. Sales- Across all of Thailand there appears to be one person willing to accept Barter Card for up to 30% of purchase price. In that case my only option is a Hyundai Sonata. HYUNDAI SONATA - BRAND NEW –SHOWROOM 1) TOP MODEL 2.4 EXE- PRICE 1,285,000 BARTER 30% 2)SPORTS MODEL 2.0 CNG 1,095,000 BARTER 25% Normally, I just wouldn't think of ever buying a Hyundai. But is this actually a good car? With 175,000 barter card points, maybe I should keep an open mind?
March 7, 200917 yr Google test results. Hyundai is sold all over the world. The newer modells get good reviews. Resale value may be not as good. But hey, at least you get rid of your Barter points.
March 8, 200917 yr A better bet is to sell them off in small chunks, presuming you can transfer them. Now say I had a favourite bar which took the barter points. If you sold me 20k for 10k or whatever, I would win and you would get some cash. Why don't you see what you can actually buy, get the discounted real cost for a cash purchase, offer a discount from that and then see how much interest you receive. Personally I think it is shit and would have nothing to do with it.

They accept 100% of value. you can rent car, or pay your hotelroom, dinner in a restaurant, etc.
March 16, 200917 yr I just recently bought a new car through Barter Card in Pattaya - no problems. As they explained to me - the car dealers are not on Barter Card - but they do a deal with the dealers who then offer a portion of the sale on Barter Card. I put down around 200k on Barter Card for my vehicle and paid the rest off every month by finance. I did not have all of the 200k so Barter extended me my credit limit. When I was looking, they had quite a few to choose from fords, chevy's, mazda's, mitsu's, toyotas even had some luxury cars as well. All in all it took me around 2 weeks from start to finish to get my new car and I saved about 200k cash, and as the barter was considered a down payment, it made it easy to get finance.
