keff
Is it easy to get a credit card in Thailand? As a foreigner working and earning in THB, is it any different from a local? Thank you
mark5335
Getting a credit card issued here is not 'easy'. You will need a letter from your Thai employer certifying your salary, and you will need original and signed copies of passport, work permit etc. Once you have established an excellent payment record in the National Credit Bureau, you will then find it easier to obtain credit cards. My own experience on this topic was that foreign credit card issuers (eg, Amex, & select foreign banks), were easier to deal with and provided better customer service than the local banks. The credit limit approved was 2 times my monthly basic salary.
