I have just been to immigration in Bangkok for my final 30 day extension on my double entry tourist visa. I have a stamp now until the 11th April. I fly to the UK on the 14th May, and need advice on how is the easiest (and cheapest) way that I will be able to stay in Thailand until then, (visa options). I also have Songkran to consider as I would like to experience the festival. Is it correct that I will be able to return to immigration for another 7 day extension, which would then mean that I would then qualify for a new 30 day visa on arrival?

I have looked through the forum and cannot find the answer to my question. Many thanks in advance for your help.

Yes, you can get a 7 day extension from immigration for 1900 THB. You should have a departure ticket to show immigration.

Yes, you will get a 30 Visa Exempt entry when arriving at the airport, 15 days if arriving by land border crossing.

You qualify for a Visa Exempt entry anytime your arrive in Thailand, the 7 day extension has nothing to do with it.

You could do a visa run to a neighboring country and pick up a new Tourist visa.

The 7 days extension will be issued if you have a flight ticket leaving Thailan within those 7 days.

Why don't you go to a neighbouring Consulate and get a Tourist Visa while they are still free of charge.

As for Songkran? Stay in doors for a week. You will miss nothing.

I am really thinking about the cheapest option, what do you think?

I would go to a consulate and get a free Visa.
