Just wondered if anyone has an update on nightlife (if any) in Sakhon Nakhon or Nakhon Phanom? I've heard of a nightclub/disco(?) at the MJ Hotel in Sakhon Nakhon but can't confirm. I believe there's a club called Tawang Daeng in Nakhon Phanom. Names, locations & reviews would be much appreciated for my trip planning. Thanks much...

I think that the disco at the MJ hotel has now closed.

There is a disco called Golden pond in Sakon Nahkon which is part of a drinking area called party night, it is a Thai disco and has a live band playing. I have never had any trouble there, or seen any trouble, there is also a big place that has live bands playing every night but not sure what it is called, Thais will know it. These are both in the town.

I have never been drinking in Nahkon Phanom, maybe other members can help you there.

geordie did you not mention a bar called toon army in a thread recently? I was in Nakhon Phanom last week and there is not much going on that I could see but a while ago I did drive past a farang looking bar but could not remember or find it on my last visit perhaps other locals can confirm or suggest place in both Sakhon Nakhon or Nakhon Phanom as I`m close to there also.

The MJ is karaoke only.

there is a bar called Toon Army not far from Party Night, i will be driving from Phitsanulok tomorrow to go to Sakon Nahkon so i will call in there tomorrow night as i know the lad who runs the bar.
