They put themselves in that crappy mess. i have talked to op's friend, he seems to be working from home right now, and hes interested in learning from me. All should be good for him within 2-3months. I think he is a lazy bastard. If he jumps off a bridge wouldn't be a bad thing in the world, we are just too many here. (the italian guy who did it, was looking for work everyday out in the streets, and give up.. not watching movies all day) I don't even want to ask how old is he not to get more upset.
