Could we use the many talents and good positive ideas from TV to have a voice and help the country?

Could we get together a totally transparent, politically non-aligned, independent, dedicated group of multicultural foreign individuals living in Thailand joined together to serve the Thai people by offering positive, appropriate ideas on the best way to develop the country with policies that are based on considered, common sense democratically sustainable thinking

To provide analysis, comment and recommendations on government policy proposals to both the government and opposition leaders of Thailand

Using the Thai Visa site as the platform, any individual from the below classification makes a recommendation on a any government policy which is selected for analysis by any members of Thai Visa, on an ad hock basis. These policies are discussed, evaluated and resulting recommendations proposed by the committee members of experts voted on by each member of the committee with their individual comments.

All information supplied to be supported by a ‘source’

At the end of every 4 week period the recommendations with the maximum number of votes are then presented automatically by email to the Prime Minister and the

Leader of the Opposition

Step 1

Anyone can propose a subject for analysis and subsequent recommendation by posting an item on a specially dedicated section of the Thai Visa Web Site

Step 2

Members of the committee provide analysis, comment, make recommendations and post on the web site. These recommendations are voted upon by Thai Visa members and the most voted for recommendations are automatically forwarded to the government and opposition

Step 3

All files are stored by subject Thai Visa for access by any member or visitor, or guest

To help this country, I have only one suggestion : send this government and everybody who supports it to Burma where they belong and book a one way ticket back to the government house for the democratically elected leader who is currently wasting his precious time abroad.

No need to wait for 4 weeks, you won't get any better suggestion, send it now ! Then think about a more productive way of using your free time :o .

Get the whole Thaksin family right down to the distant realitves of the chauffeurs, butlers, maids and dogs together with all the red shirt thugs, yellow shirt thugs and all their whinging, whining, bigoted, back stabbing supporters (Thai and farang) assembled at Laem Chanbang port.

Load the whole <deleted>' lot into a set of 40 foot containers, ship them out to the middle of the Pacific ocean and drop the whole lot over the side (remembering to punch holes in the silo tops so they sink and not be a hazard to yachtsmen).

Then everybody else can get on with their life without this continuous cachophany of primeval bickering.

Positive enough for you? :o

(there now you already have a better suggestion and it's not even been 30 minutes).

After all of the time I have spent reading comments/advise etc on TV , I feel your time would be far better spent shouting at a wall , that way , at least you will get an echo , far more than you will get talking to any Thai about how to improve anything in a logical manner .

I would like to talk the Tourism Authority of Thailand to task on everything they do. I would do it for free, which is hard for me after leaving a life where you can charge by the second.

First I would hire an outside Audit and Inspection Team, including forensic accountants to at least slow the corruption process and put some common business practices to further stem the flow of taxpayer money being stolen by government officials.

Restore confidence in the system. Get the Elite Card owners their 5 year visa back. A guy I know just had his 5 year visa expire and now can only get a 30 day stamp on arrival and a limo ride to his home. If the Elite Card holder is staying more than 30 days Thai Elite will send a person with you to Suan Plu to escort you through the lines.

Hire someone to make international commercials for Thailand after they graduate from high school. Why can't Thailand use the same companies that create great spots for Singapore and Malaysia?

New tag line, "Get your a@@ back here!" The tourists will have to have something to come back to so the government can do what they want to the surfs but leave non-Thais out of it. We don't vote so let us spend our money in peace. We should not have our vacations constantly interrupted by elections, demonstrations, bombings, murders, rapes, robberies and periodic laws passed without any thought, that affects tourism. If any of the law makers can read they would be aware that there is a global economic crisis in the works. It in no way affects them but their constituency is feeling the full effect.

Open the deep south for Extreme Tourism. Tours of hot spots will rake in the money and maybe bring to light the civil war that has a body count that rivals Iraq and Afghanistan.

In the near future Thailand may become known as "Burma with electricity".

The OP is assuming that advice & suggestions would be taken in the first place :o:D:D

Agree totally with Neverdie. Thais resent any suggestion that there may be a better way. Any suggested modification or improvement to almost anything is met with restrained disdain, especially if it comes from a westener. On the whole I believe they would prefer us just to shut-up and stay in our place. They like it just the way it is thank you.

Does the OP not yet realize that Colonial times are already gone since many decades.

Its unbelievable that some people still have such an paternalistic view. What will you feel if foreigners in your country united themselves and advise to change the laws? Right............ :o

BTW I really think you like to declare yourself to be public enemy number one :D

Last good advice, hold those ideas for yourself and NEVER mention them with Thai people or you will become an social outcast,if not worse.

well i'll start at the bottom........

I come from an enlightened multicultural society where the current minister for climate change is a bull dyke, and am extremely clever one at that, i do not think that she has colonial aspirations in mind with her ideas, but a dedication for the good of the whole of society in which she lives and serves...

an idea that i support..... and in this country, the one that i choose to live in, what i desire is the best for Thailand with a genuine love for the country with an international view

i do get your drift. B U T, in contrast i have often given information to Thai friends about adeas from other parts of the world and have been gratified at the positive response. I admit that most of these Thais have traveled to other parts of the word and have more of an international view of things.

These experiences have given me hope for the country to enter the global discussion

e.g. on this forum there is a new item on organic farming, this idea did not come from Thai, but the advice has become embraced by a lot of Thai people

have you become jaded? how about something positive to help this wonderful country and its beautiful people

p s Thanks for you sweet message
