PM’s Office deputy spokesperson affirmed no conflict with Mr. Panitharn

Deputy Government Spokesperson Phuttipong Punnakan revealed his resignation from his post was to return the quota to the Chart Thai Pattana Party, affirming no conflict with Mr. Panitharn Wattanayakorn.

Mr. Phuttipong divulged today (March 24) he had met Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva prior to the Cabinet meeting to hand in a resignation letter from the post of Deputy Government Spokesperson.

He reasoned that the resignation was to open the way to the Chart Thai Pattana Party as the Chart Thai Pattana Party core members had earlier asked the Prime Minister to return this quota to their party.

Mr. Phuttipong affirmed he had not had any conflict with Deputy Secretary-general to the Prime Minister and Government Spokesperson, Mr. Panitharn Wattanayakorn in past operation.

Putthipong steps down

Deputy government spokesman Putthipong Punnakan submitted his resignation to Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva on Tuesday morning with immediate effect. Mr Putthipong said his departure opens the way for a Chart Thai Pattana party MP to get the deputy government spokesman's job.

The decision follows media reports of a widening rift between Mr Putthipong and government spokesman Panitan Wattanayagorn. Both are from the Democrat party.
