Court Disqualifies Chiang Mai Mayor

This is Thai democracy. They do it their way. You have to accept the reality of living in Thailand and not pontificate that Thailand MUST follow the letter of the law as if it were the States. Thais don't want American opinions telling them how to run their country.

You think democracy Thai-style works well?? What country and/or reality are you living in?

No I don't think it works well. I live in Thailand but understand the reality.

We can comment and even suggest maybe, but we can not influence or pontificate.

Hope that answers your query without my having to widen the topic from the Chiangmai mayor to Thailand generally by giving examples where American and British ( and others....) actions have caused problems in foreign lands.

There is a special relationship between the States and Thailand ( and to some extent the UK Thailand) which rather clouds the issue but as I say that widens the topic.

Incidentally, I agree very much with your observation about the rich and powerful family.
