Ritti
My girlfriend has a block of land in Bangkok so we are looking to bulid a decent sized house with a small pool. 2 storey place that wraps around the pool. Has anyone built in Bangkok? Any photos or prices would be great. I have not thought of a budget yet but it will not be huge. Thank you Edited April 6, 2009 by Ritti
apetley
You can build a very nice house with excellent quality fixtures and fittings for around 10k bht per sq metre if you are careful. I suggest that you have a look at some of the housebuilding books available in bookstores and Tesco Lotus. We have been quoted between 700 and 800 k for a basic pool 12 x 4 metres. Have a look at the building blogs in coolthaihouse.com for some home build stories.
PattayaParent
I have one mate that built a house with pool for 10 million Baht (excluding land). I have another mate that built a house without pool for 600,000 Baht (excluding land. So somewhere between the 2 should see you right.

Thank you At least Bt20k/m2 (excluding the pool, deck and garden) since such a house layout will have more perimeter area with glass and a compound roof with hips and valleys. I would have a house with floor to floor height of at least 3.5m for the 1st floor and 2.8m for floor to ceiling at the 2nd to combat Bangkok's hot season.
