Rob5060 Posted January 25, 2005 Posted January 25, 2005 Help guys I am just buying a new car while not in Thailand and the dealer assures me anyone can drive the car on the insurance provided. I expected to have to name drivers , any advice so welcome Cheers Rob
slimdog Posted January 25, 2005 Posted January 25, 2005 Your dealer was correct. In Thailand the car is insured not the driver.
chanchao Posted January 25, 2005 Posted January 25, 2005 And, when you buy a second hand car that's already insured first class, you can just transfer the insurance to your own name. Easy!
alanw Posted January 26, 2005 Posted January 26, 2005 If you want to check any further questions, can I suggest that you call Aviva, they have plenty of staff who are good listeners, will quickly understand the thrust of your question, and give you clear answers. If needed, for second hand cars, they can organize the annual vehicle inspection for you, at very reasonable rate.
