Had a first experience of this yesterday, i'm male also. I went down on him and he did not cum in my mouth, that's all we did. Today my throat is dry and sore so i'm worried I might have picked up something although he said he had a recent test and was OK, but who knows. Should I get a test and what for, or should I get a few meds. I'm married so and I don't know why I did it, just currious I guess.

What you describe is not consistent with any STI.

It may just be irritation fro mthe act itself, or you may be coming down with a cold.

that said, I strongly urge that you not put any credence in partner's statements about having been tested and being OK, and always use condoms for any act that may involve an exchange of bodily fluids.

Also be aware that it is possible to contact genital herpes in the mouth/throat as a result of oral sex (would not, however, cuase the dryness/irritation you describe less than 24 hours later).

This is a health related inquiry in the health forum, so a number of posts commenting on the OP's marital fidelity etc have been deleted.

Topic title has also been edited to be a bit less sensationalistic.

Usually an STI has an incubation period. Unless there was soft tissue damage from aggressive thrusting etc., it is highly unlikely you would have developed an STI so quickly. If you were smoking, or you gargled with mouthwash alot after the fact, therein may be the problem. (Excessive gargling dries out the tissue and makes it more susceptible to infection - FYI). This may be psychosomatic. Wait a 7-10 days and if problem persists, go and have a culture taken at a reputable hospital. Be honest with the physician. Can't help you otherwise. In the interim, please refrain from contact with your current partner on the remote chance you have something, until the issue is resolved. You owe her that much.

As for those folks that want to heap abuse, I too condemn for cheating on the missus, but please understand that when we condemn we discourage the possibly ill from seeking help. If there is an infection, then others are put at risk etc. Therefore, please exercise restraint and look at the big picture. Whatever our personal views may be, when someone sick presents, stick to addressing the question. It's the health forum. I keep my nasty comments in the other forums. Thank you.

I can't think of any STD that would show up within a day though as Sheryl said there are some that can be caught via insertive oral. Most likely what you are experiencing at this stage is anxiety.

Very well put, geriatrickid.

Multiple posts which did not stick to addressing the question have been deleted, and since the OP's question has been answered, this thread is now closed.

But first let me make the observation that innumerable other posts presenting essentially the same problem (fear of STD after extramarital fooling around) but involving contact with a woman did not produce anything like the reaction that this thread did....
