School Van Accident in Northern Thailand Takes Young Student's Life
Personally, I think the choice of image for this news story is excellent, and it points up what is lacking at the present time. If you look at the school bus in the image, the bus has a cement block in front of the tire, to keep the bus from rolling. And, what is that BarberShop Pole doing on the side of the bus? Is this old bus used as a Barber Shop, or something? So then, the MESSAGE of this Image is that School Buses of Excellent Design are not in use for transporting children to and from school? I have no idea what the relative fatalities might be for children riding US buses to school vs buses used in other countries. However, just looking at Wikipedia, the story is not as simplistic as some might imagine. Is the USA actually safer, or not? Or, is this just a myth? For example this: Are some countries shifting to Van Chassis-Based School buses now? Nice article here about US buses, and just how much safer they seem to be: https://www.edweek.org/leadership/are-school-buses-safe-an-expert-explains/2024/02 Zero fatalities is the ideal.... -

Swing States & Election Integrity!
That advice is sound and should span across all candidates. Mr walz couldn't help himself. You could see the pride in his eyes every time he spouted out different generic name calling. -

Dulcelax
Dulcolax is not a stool softener. It is a stimulant laxative. Generic name is biscodyl and while Dulcolax brand is not available in Thailand there is a locally made equivelent called Biscodyl YSP. Same thing. The Senna I recommended is also a stimulant laxative but because it is classified as herbal medicine it can be legally sold outside of pharmacies whereas Biscodyl cannot. -

Brutal assault on Canadian raises serious questions about tourist safety in Pattaya
I don't see it as a problem, but people getting beat up happens everywhere in areas where people party and get drunk. As both of these beatdowns were from "bouncers" it should be easy to solve. Putting things into perspective, I've lived in Pattaya full-time for 20 years and I don't feel unsafe here. Maybe I've missed a few beatdowns in the news, but it's not a very frequent occurrence, and most I have read about were due to over-enthusiastic security staff. Maybe I'm being optimistic, but I feel this latest incident will result in a city-wide cleanup of the security industry. -

Does it annoy you when a Thai person doesn't understand your spoken Thai?
In no way do I speak Thai proficiently. However I make an effort. But this has caused me to have to change my chosen brand of cigarettes as I am apparently incapable of saying the word Yellow *เหลือง". I can tell them "buhri", no problem, I can tell them "Ca-Mel", no problem but the last part defeats me 90% of the time. Of course I could just say "yellow" and probably that would work but would spoil the fun. I now smoke Marlboro. -

Changing New Passport Number At Bank
I didn't bother doing this when i got the new passport, however when i also got a new phone about 6 months later i had to go to the Bank to get the Apps working again, what a drama. Bank staff informed me it would have been much easier if i just updated passport info at the time of issue. -

Changing New Passport Number At Bank
Yes, Speaking from experience , It's one of those things that one eventually forgets to do without any consequences and then something happens making you wish you had sorted it out at the time. If for example an ATM machine swallows your card you'll need to visit a branch to sort a replacement , they will want to see your passport and if the number doesn't match the one on their system they will want to see the old passport and the new one when they update their records. The sooner you do it the less likely you are to have discarded or disposed of your old passport When it happened to me I had changed passport twice since opening the account and my old passports were back in the UK. The people in the bank were very reluctant to issue a new card, Fortunately my brother in law had needed a lift to collect his car which was in for repair, and had accompanied me into town that day , even luckier he's a cop and he had his uniform on, Him vouching for me being who I said I was made all the difference. -

Kamala Harris selects Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz to be VP running mate
Once the American public see and hear him with their own eyes and ears he is a lot more Coach Walz than what they're trying to make him out to be. I think she hit it out of the park with this pick. -

Is intestinal worms a myth?
As above. Also a myth that colonic irrigations or use laxatives will get rid of them. The "white strings" seen after a colonic is not a worm. It is mucosal lining of the colon which is best left in place. Sennokot/Senna is not fiber. It is a laxative. -

It's ok. I understand you don't want to know that poll results have changed in just a few days' time.
