April 17, 200917 yr Hello, I would be grateful if anyone can help with this - I have retirement visa until Jan next year. I may have to leave Thailand, could be up to 6 months, not sure at the moment. Is there a limit on the time immigration will allow on a re-entry permit, or will they grant up to the date of expiry of the visa? Also, how would it interact with the 90 day reporting? Do I just forget about the 90 day thing, and report to immigration when I return to Thailand? Many thanks.
April 17, 200917 yr You can stay away up until the day of expiry of your current permission to stay, after that you would need to get a new visa. During the time you are out of the country you don't need to do 90 day reporting. A fresh 90 days starts at the day you rturn to Thailand. So 90 days after returning you would need to do your next report.
April 17, 200917 yr A re-entry permit will be valid until the date your admitted until or extension of stay expires. Ninety day address reporting is not required while you are out of the country, you start a new 90 day reporting period when you return. Edited April 17, 200917 yr by InterestedObserver
April 17, 200917 yr Do you really have a retirement visa obtained from a Consulate that provides a one year stay on entry (type OA)? If you do is it single or multi entry? Is the visa itself still valid? You might want to do something different if that is the case. Or do you have an extension of stay obtained from Immigration? The above answers assume you have an extension of stay.
